Developing sustainable practices in hospitality and tourism worldwide

The World Green Council was founded by Dr Jerry Schwartz, the largest private hotel owner in Australia who is well known for promoting sustainability in hospitality and tourism. To date, most of the focus in sustainability has been on plant and equipment including green buildings.

World Green Council focusses on the practices of the millions of people who work in hospitality and tourism worldwide. Through better understanding of sustainable practices, the World Green Council is working to recognise operators for their commitment to improving these skills.

When it comes to sustainability it’s ultimately up to people to effect the change that is needed.

Become recognised as a World Green Council Certified Hotel – delivering more sustainable practices in your property by engaging your most valuable asset – your people.
